Staycations - self catering value a best kept secret

Today’s papers tell us that UK holiday makers are ditching holidays abroad in favour of “staycations” has led to a 9% increase in bookings for Scotland. Great news!

Let us share a secret with you – self-catering has always offered the best value per head per night of all holiday accommodation. Take a cottage for 4 at £450 for the week, that’s £112.50 per person or £16.00 per night – now that’s what we call a bargain.

Taken together with the flexibility to go where you want when you are ready to go, what could be better than a self-catering break in the countryside or city.

Combine your trip to Perthshire with a trip to one of our farm shops, for example Gloagburn near Perth offers very good food including delicious breakfasts! Buy some provisions from the shop there or see the most amazing range of quality foods at our very own Harrods of the North” at House of Bruar. Scotland meets up at House of Bruar, conveniently placed on the A9 north of Pitlochry folk travel from all parts to meet up with friends and relatives

In our Perthshire holiday cottages, houses and apartments we aim to offer excellent value for money, some fine late deals and the warmest of welcomes. Visit our website or contact us for assistance.

New to Abade - Balnabein in Highland Perthshire

Balnabein sleeps 6 is set in a spectacular position above Grandtully, near Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire. At times of year you might want a 4 x 4 to navigate the steep driveway, but my goodness it's worth it for the views alone. Once there this 4 star farmhouse has plenty to offer, with even a covered barbecue area in the garden, visitors to Balnabein can just chill out and relax.

Below the house nestles the village of Grandtully which sits on the banks of the River Tay. Famous for its stretch of white water rapids and canoe championships, it also boasts the most
amazing Choclatier with shop and very nice restaurant. With Aberfeldy and Loch tay, Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Perth within very easy reach, this locality is hard to beat for things to see and do.
